As the Youth President of Anifowoshe community area of Ikeja ,Lagos State, i have been privileged to withness all MRDC have showcased in our community. I and other youths have immensely benefited from the series of programmes put together by MRDC from time to time. To mention a few, i attended their Discovery and Nehemiah Initiative programmes and both were eye opening and of immense benefit to us as our eyes were open to some of the benefits surrounding us right where we in our community instead of looking elsewhere. MRDC, has been a God Sent to my community as some of our members have
testified to upliftment in their businesses and lives as well. Most of what we were taught was applicable to our businesses and served as a life guide to we the Youths of Anifowoshe . MRDC is an Organization that has been put in place by God to
cushion poverty and reduce vices among youths in this country.
I attended MRDC’s Discovery Workshop and EDP. The impact on my life and business has been very amazing. At the point of attending the programmes, I had nothing of my own and was barely living off relatives. After the programme, I decided to leave and act on all I had been taught which included THINKING BIG. I got a small shop in computer village, Ikeja to start my own
sale of communication products and today, the story is positively different. Some major things I learnt that have stuck with me include; how to separate my company account from my personal account, Integrity and Customer Relations. All these have really helped to take my business to a higher level as I
ErrandTech came as a result of a desire to do something fulfilling in life which led me to press into God to find what field or what I am meant to do that is not just about making money but finding fulfilment and love for what one does. One of the
days it came to me to start a company called errands, at first it did not sound reasonable because I didn’t know any company that existed of that nature but just Courier Company. When I told someone close to me, what i felt which is not a
courier company but helping people to meet their personal and business need, it didn’t sound as a good idea and was
discouraged from pursuing it but was encourage by a lady that got to know about the idea and believed it was workable, from there I went to one of MRDC’S programme to learn how to start a business even though I have been in business already and was encouraged by all the facilitators with their teachings, especially the challenge posed by the organizer, who gave us six month to put our ideas into action. So the name was given to my wife ErrandTech which was registered and started operation fully in August 2011.
I attended MRDC’s Discovery Workshop and Enterprise Development Programme (EDP) at a point where I was about giving up on my business. Thank God for the trainings. I was taught that in business, there are high and low points and that at your
low point, instead of lamenting, you have to begin to re-invent your business, and that’s when the idea of re-branding my business came to me. That singular decision and action I took, was the turning point that took my business to the next level and I got my first major breakthrough. Secondly, the Young Entrepreneurs’ Network (YEN) monthly meetings have helped me to understand that ideally, I should take my products and services to my target audience and not always wait for them to come

I attended MRDC’S Enterprise Development Programme (EDP) in 2010, and it was of tremendous impact on my business, especially the Legal aspect where I learnt that registering or running your business using a family business name was a
potential risk as it had its down side. Armed with this knowledge, I was able to take the right legal steps to make those corrections and move the business forward.

I attended both the Discovery and EDP Programmes few years back, and for me the major thing I left those programmes with is ”THE PUSH” to start something no matter how small, and that’s what I did exactly. I thereafter started my business with just two thousand naira. I also learnt about building my business round Core Values, clearly defining, stating in writing my Mission and Vision Statements and following my passion through to the latter by putting down structures to help the
business stand and grow. I was taught integrity in business, and I must say that practicing it in business has done a lot to impact my business.
